Pool mural - when I need a break

So, when I need a break, I stroll out to the patio and this is what greets me.
What, a life!

Pool mural day two and three

So, here we are at the end of day one and the block in of the sky is in. Only to discover I needed some patching to be done!

Day two sees the covering of the sky block in and the block in of the ocean and beach areas - I have used a raw sienna color as a contrasting background to give the colors more depth.

And Day three when all is said and done, shows the beginning of the block in of the gradation of the sky at the horizon line where sky meets ocean.

My first days on the mural job

I started this large mural project October 23rd, 2007. Being a fine artist and muralist I know some will find it interesting to follow along.

This project is in a private home. This pool is located in the basement and has needed a lot of prep work to get it to the point it is now.

The long wall is about 40 ft and the short wall is about 12 ft. These two walls are my canvas.

A 'boardwalk' has been constructed to allow my access to the walls. This is how the space looked at the start of the day.
