Happy Thanksgiving to all. Well here I am again - these pictures are from the week ending Nov. 17. I have blocked in the bigger pictures on the long wall. This gives me a better idea of layout for the land mass, beaches and waves. Still lots of detail work needed on the land mass...me thinks them old rocks are too big, mmm?..keep tuned.

day 10 -11 wave works
Well, here I am, worked really hard on my waves today (day 10) but something was wrong and bothering me. Finally figured it out the front wave was too close to be believable in terms of perspective (bleep). The first two pictures are Day 10.
But I really love the colors and how the water looks!
The next bunch of pictures are of Day 11.
Blocked out front waves and reworked them. Keep talking to myself describing how waves work.... Tomorrow I will have to work on the depth of color so that they ocean recedes into space correctly. Probably will have to lighten up a lot of the colors.
However, it is starting to look pretty good, me thinks.
So far I have not fallen into the Pool! Kathryn 1: Pool 0

Days 7 - 9 progress
Well here I am again. You can see from this series of photos that I am slowly gaining ground.
This first picture shows a rough map/sketch of placement of the far horizon. Next shows blocking in of color and shapes continuing through the end of day 9! Yes I am gaining ground - 14 feet mapped in, another 30 or so to go! Then come the details!
Ciaio!

Mural in day
This bi-plane appears in a therapist's office over a small table where children sit while with her. Nice and simple
Messing with the camera during a break
Well everyone needs a bit of time off, so I thought I would mess with the self timer on my camera.
I think I need say no more!
Dashing around the pool edges..
Almost...
Brilliant!
Pool Mural days 4 - 6
I have now had the opportunity to work with an airbrush after 25 years! It was an experience and I think I finally got the hang of it. I used the control of the airgun to create the graded striations of the sky transitioning from warm tones into the deeper blues of a sky. If you look at a sky you will notice that it fades from deep blue and warms up toward the horizon line. This is particularly important when creating a seascape on the scale that is represented here. Picture one, shows the results at the end of day 4. While hard to see there is really a soft transition from warm creamy tones, to pale blue to deep blue. More sky elements will be added later.
Picture two shows the appearance of the sea horizon line - with close tone blending toward the sky line. Picture a late afternoon with the sun disappearing and how the line begins to blur between the two planes.
Picture 3 at the end of day 6 shows the major block in of some of the closer elements of the sea. This mural will be view mostly from a seated position, and even in the pool, so we have to remember perspective here.
Stay tuned to see what appears in the blocked out areas shown here.
